This paper provides an overview and analysis of the rehabilitative model of criminal justice and its application in terms of the use of alternatives to incarceration. The analysis begins with an overview of the rehabilitative model and societal and criminal justice attitudes towards punishment. The next section describes various types of alternative intervention programs.
