Search by topic:   13372. WOMEN IN THE ALBANIAN WORKFORCE. This paper presents an overview and analysis of the role of women in the 20th century Albanian workforce. The analysis begins with an overview of women’s role in traditional Albanian society and a discussion of their exclusion from the official workforce during the pre-Communist era. The next section considers the rapid expansion of working women during the Communist era, examining the specifics of women’s labor participation and evidence of remnants of traditional attitudes. The concluding section considers changes to women’s role in the workforce during the post-Communist era.
