17319. MASLOW’S HIERARCHY OF NEEDS THEORY. This paper provides an overview and analysis of Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs theory and its applicability to business organizations. The paper first introduces the components and assumptions of Maslow’s theory, and briefly refers to some of the general research findings pertaining to its applicability. Then, five specific journal articles relating to the theory are described and analyzed. Emphasis is placed on how each article contributes to an understanding of the theory’s applicability in terms of motivating customers and/or employees.
