04975. THE CHANGING IMAGE OF BLACK WOMEN IN AMERICA. A history tracing the white image of black women and the black woman's image of herself, from the time of slavery down to the present day. The effects of sexual and economic exploitation on that image are considered, and the position of black women in the recent women's movement is assessed.
